What Is DMOZ?

Dmoz
http://www.dmoz.com
Ever heard of DMOZ? If you are in the field of SEO and you are well known with some good sites and Tools of SEO, then DMOZ is unknown thing for you.
Dmoz is the Internet’s one of the largest directory system (over 4 million web sites) and is maintained by human editors(This is why DMOZ is important and links in DMOZ are counted). A web site listing in Dmoz can also be an important part of having a web site rank well in Google, because Google uses Dmoz results in it’s own directory.

Advantages of Dmoz :
Better relevancy than non-human edited directories and search engines.
Do not rank, promote or optimize sites, simply a data provider.
Disadvantages
Abuse by editors (not often)
Can take a long time to have your site reviewed
Tips for submitting your site to Dmoz
Make sure your site has original content and isn’t a clone of
other sites.
Make sure your site is error free and the design layout is easy
to use.
Check for spelling and general mistakes on your site.
Submit your site to a relevant categories, otherwise your submission
will be delayed.
Submit your site only once
Becoming a Dmoz Editor
It’s easy to become an editor at Dmoz, all you have to is,
Find a category that you would like to maintain.
Click the Become an Editor link at the top of the category
page.
You will then have to find 2 or 3 sites to add to that category
and explain your reasons why you wish to edit in that category.
Facts about Dmoz
It is in partnership with AOL
Hosted and administered by Netscape Communication Corporation
Self-regulating community
Serves results for search engine Google
On 25th May 2010 Dmoz had,
4,529,282 sites
 85,446 editors
over 590,000 categories
The one very important thing in using DMOZ services is that it takes long to get a site listed into DMOZ. Usually any directory service takes a maximum of 6 months time for approving your listing. But in DMOZ this time may exceed more. But once a site is listed in DMOZ, it is a great achievement for the site. Please read the dmoz submission guidlines properly before submitting your listing. Check that whether your site is listavle or not. Also check whether it is already listed. And also choose a single best category for your site in dmoz from the strong list of 590,000 categories and sub-categories.
Try not to fall in trap of such people who claim to list your site in bloody two - three days. It is not possible to do this by any green SEO method. And I personally do not trust on black hat techniques for SEO.

Forum Link Building - A Strong Method For Backlinks

Forums are a very strong way to populate your links on the web. They give a permanent link status as long as the administrator of the Forum does not find you spamming or considers your link and posting a Spam. Links on Forums can be build by signature links. Signature Links will increase your SERP. It also gives your site referral traffic from there as a addon.
Lets discuss some points of benefits of Forum backlinks.
1. It helps to increase the SERP of your website.
2. It gives you referral traffic from the forum, provided you are linking to the Forum of your own theme.
3. By Forum we can target and anchor text and deep link.
4. Links posted on forums are ready to cook. They are live instantly(There may be some exceptions also. Some FORUMS Alow comments only when you have meet certain criteria set by the Forum Administrator.)
By seeing these four important points we can now say that Forum have emerged as a great tool for Webmaster for getting backlings and heavy flow of referral traffic too.
Lets Discuss now some more benefits.
1. Blog Comment Vs Forums Signature Links
2. Author's Bio In Article Vs Forums Signature Links
3. Directory submission Vs Forums Signature Links
Blog Comment Vs Forums Signature Links
In Blogs, The Blog Owner/Author posts some threads. You came across that blog and you find it useful and related to your own blog/website's theme and subjectline. You can make a comment there drop your link too. But as per the observation and research blogs rarely refer the reader to some other links untill and unless the links are posted cleverly in a way to get referrals. But teh fact is that link should always be posted in a way that it can attract the reader from there to your site. The reason why blog do not refer someone to your site is that comment on the blog is meant for praising the author and his thread.
On the other hand, in a Forum, A Thread is started. Thread in a Forum is usually a discussion on a given topic. You can answer and participate in that and post links of your site when and where necessary referring that your website contains useful information on this subject. You can show that you too have the knowledge and resources in this. And the user is motivated enough by you after reading your reply on the thread that he cannot stop himself from clicking your link or the signature you have posted.
Author's Bio In Article Vs Forums Signature Links
Article also attract huge traffic. A good articles has a ample detail on the topic it is written on. So people generally are satisfied with the details given there. One can hardly click on the links in the Author's Bio to see your webpage. Author 's Bio is only good in populating your links. But yes article are also a good way to get backlinks. But it hardly gives you traffic to your parent site.
But in a Forum, when you are answering a question, reader will find it interesting and will go ahead by clicking on your signature to know more about you and and answer on your site.
IMPORTANT: Do participate in a forum discussion with link posting only when you have valid and usefull resources on the topic in your site. Otherwise your visitors will bounce back and there is no use attracting visitors and not serving their needs. Also the visitor will be disappointed by your site and will probably never return to your link.
Directory submission Vs Forums Signature Links
Links added in a Web directory are hardly clicked. They are basically meant for the Search Engine Crawlers to count the number of links on the Web.
Beside this, Forum signature have a advantage over this as it will bring you clicks.

How To Remove Nofollow Attribute From Blog comments On Blogger

Today I tried making comments on my blog more worth. I have removed the nofollow attribute from blog. This will now allow your comments on this blog count by Google. As All Blogger templates have the Nofollow attribute built into their comments. Its good to invite readers to your blog by allowing users to comment on your blog by making their comment worth. This will allow crawlers to crawl your page comments and hence if someone has posted any link there it will be counted as backlink. The Nofollow attribute instructs the search spiders not to follow the link thus preventing the spread of "Google Juice" - as said often in terms of SEO for links generally.
Removing nofollow attribute will encourage people to comment on your blog once they recognize that links in comments are being followed.
how To Modify Template for removing No follow Attribute
To do this just login to dashboard of your blog >>> click on layouts of your blog >>> click on Edit Html subtab of Template tab >>> First backup your template by clicking on the Download Full Template link >>> Put a check in the Expand Widgets Template Checkbox at the top of the Edit Template text box. This expands the Blog Posts Widget Code within which is the comments code >>> Then scroll down till you come to :

rel='nofollow'. Here is the code:
